Nathan Tsoi presented our work on SEAN-EP at the 2021 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems which took place on September 27 - October 1, 2021. The paper was entitled “An Approach to Deploy Interactive Robotic Simulators on the Web for HRI Experiments: Results in Social Robot Navigation”, and was co-authored by Nathan, Mohamed Hussein (Rutgers), Olivia Fugikawa, J. D. Zhao, and Marynel Vázquez. A video of Nathan’s presentation can be watched below and the full paper can be accessed here:

Also, Sydney Thompson will be presenting another paper by IMG at the 23rd ACM International Conference on Multimodal Interaction (ICMI’21), which will take place on October 18-22, 2021. The paper is entitled “Conversational Group Detection with Graph Neural Networks”. The first authors of the paper are Sydney and Abhijit Gupta, and the other co-authors are Anjali W. Gupta, Austin Chen and Marynel Vázquez. This paper studies conversational group detection in varied social scenes using a message-passing Graph Neural Network (GNN) in combination with the Dominant Sets clustering algorithm. The results in the paper suggest that using GNNs to leverage both individual and relationship features when computing groups is beneficial, especially when more features are available for each individual.
